Brisbane Best: Eagle Farm - 19th October

3 minute read

A deep ten-race card awaits us at Eagle Farm this Saturday with plenty of value on offer.

Brisbane Best Picture: RacingandSports

We go back to Eagle Farm this weekend for consecutive Saturday meetings and we've landed on a couple late in the day.

Our best bet comes up in race eight, siding with the topweight in Gin A Tonic.

The only failure for this son of Better Than Ready came in the $1 million Magic Millions National 2YO Classic back in May behind the likes of Arabian Summer and Spywire and he certainly doesn't strike anything of that quality here.

Should be cheery-ripe now third-up from the spell, draws the inside marble and gets 2kg off with the claim. Is one from one around the Eagle Farm circuit and will be going very close.

Our next best is in the Get Out Stakes in the form of the Proven Thoroughbreds syndicated Cartwheels. They'll be hoping they've already tasted success earlier in the day with Private Eye in The Everest and they can round out proceedings with a winner in the last at Brisbane.

This four-year-old mare hasn't done much wrong in her first two preparations, hitting the top-two on all five occasions including a victory over Saturday's course and distance. Tuned up for this with a recent Deagon trial and drawn to get a cosy run from gate five.
