Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Thursday’s meeting at Wyong.

Allegheny (Race 2) is in to $2.10 after being hammered in early betting. She opened second elect but has almost halved her initial quote and is clearly the one punters want. Starting a warm favourite on debut off a strong trial win, she was beaten almost 5L after a wide run but the market suggests she can improve plenty with that experience.

Elusive Filly (Race 3) is still offering good each way value at $5.50 after firming in several points. She has yet to place in three career runs but was only beaten 0.7L after leading last start and each way punters are looking for her to continue the progress.

Fired Up (Race 4) is another being given a chance at double figure odds after halving his early quote to $7 with TopBetta. He rates top three on last-start performances and with a win and two placings from five tries on soft going, he shapes as one of the day’s better value chances.

Echo Prince (Race 6) is now a hot favourite at $1.80, punters backing him into the red after firming almost 50 cents in early betting. Joint top-rater on last start performances, he was beaten less than a length after leading when resuming and did win second up last preparation.
