The Money Trail – Moruya, July 17

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Monday’s meeting at Moruya.

Bella Amante (Race 2) opened well into each way odds but has been heavily backed, firming more than five points to $2.70 and into favouritism. The Pins filly is on debut off a placing in a Goulburn trial and the market push is encouraging.

Lucy Rose (Race 3) is another that has come in for plenty of support having been backed in more than point to an odds on quote at $1.65 and clear favouritism. The filly resumes having won two of her three runs, her only defeat behind subsequent Group winner Gunnison.

Satin Silks (Race 4) could be worth an each way ticket at $6 having shortened four-and-a-half points from an opening double-figure quote. She has been to the provincials a couple of times of late and looks better placed here.

Classic Conquest (Race 6) is challenging for favouritism at $4.60 having shortened more than three points. The mare is working up to a win having run fourth, third and second in her three runs this time in.

Brockton Punch (Race 7) has taken over as the favourite at $4.20 having firmed close to two points since markets opened. The gelding has been a model of consistency with top two finishes at all five runs this campaign and the punters are confident he can chalk up another win.
