We've zeroed in on some best bets for a competitive nine-race card at Eagle Farm this Saturday.

Our top selection comes up in race five in the form of the red-hot Battlefield

This well-travelled son of Deep Field started his career in Sydney with champion trainer Chris Waller before being transferred to Hawkesbury-based conditioner Matthew Vella. He has now lobbed at Barry Lockwood's Eagle Farm base and has grown a leg since.

His local debut was a handy second behind the promising Navyonthehighway and he has then proceeded to string three wins together on the bounce, with two of those coming around his home circuit. He's drawn to get a gun run from the inside alley for winning hoop Robbie Dolan with the only danger appearing to be Liquor

Our value play of the day comes up in race two with Divine Purpose. This five-year-old mare started her career with current trainer Clinton Taylor before having a stint with Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman down south.

The daughter of Divine Prophet has been competitive in harder Melbourne metropolitan contests and even raced in the Queensland Oaks as a three-year-old. She'll be ready to peak fourth-up from the break and should be hitting the line strongly.

Special mention goes to the uber-consistent Warby in the last. This half-brother to Group 1 winner and stallion Captivant has been knocking on the door of another victory placing in five of six this campaign and Ryan Maloney sticks after the last-start runner-up finish. He has two wins and two placings from just four steers and only needs some luck in running for a well-deserved win.
