ROSEHILL June 21

Inside Grass; Soft 6

12 Heats – 3 x 1030m (1 Open; 1 2YO; 1 C1/Maiden); 9 x 900m (4 Open; 4 2YO; 1 2 & 3YO)

Expect a couple of late season 2YO winners to emerge from this session.

MAWJOOD (Hawkes Racing): Tassort gelding is obviously a lot better than what he showed in his first start in February. Made an impression winning a Rosehill trial on June 11 and was better again this time winning the fastest of the 2YO trials over 900m with ease (55.06; 34.34). Sat second before extending easily off the turn, running with intent to score by a flattering five lengths. The runner-up DELRICO also impressed with his work to the line.

PROSPEROUS DRAGON (Jake Hull): Provincial stable has a runner in this unraced 3YO gelding by Russian Revolution. After posting trial wins at Wyong and Gosford in April and May he came to town for another dominant exhibition, giving a big kick off the turn to win his 1030m heat by a dominant margin (63.38; 36.02). Hard to beat in a provincial maiden.

Other 2YOs with good prospects include the 900m heat winners BRAVE ONE (56.48; 35.54) and EXTREMELY HARDYS (55.86; 35.84) while DELRICO, THEBLADE, MLINZI and TI AMO TANTO did more than enough to warrant interest when they appear.

NOTED TRIALS

XX Mawjood; Prosperous Dragon

X Brave One; Delrico; Extremely Hardys; King Of Florida; Mlinzi; Theblade; Ti Amo Tanto; Triskelion; Union Army; Wingardium

WYONG June 19

Course Proper; Soft 6

16 Heats – 7 x 1000m (4 Open; 2 2YO; 1 Maiden);  9 x 845m (3 Open; 4 2YO; 2 Maiden)

A new import took the eye and a local stable can look forward to producing a batch of unraced youngsters.

SIVKA BUBKA (Ciaron Maher): Promising first local trial from this imported stakeswinning mare by Siyouni. She boasts three wins and four placings from her 10 starts in Europe including a Listed win at Deauville and a G3 placing in Germany and should measure up well in local mares company after working nicely to the line under a soft ride for a strong second in her open heat over 845m (52.18; 35.21).

TURF FEVER (Damien Lane): I rated this impressive unraced colt by Cosmic Force when he won his first trial at Newcastle in February and he looks ready for a bold debut after this strong heat win over 845m. Sat outside the leader and extended easily to run away with the trial under no pressure in good time (51.53; 35.57).

Damien Lane is building a strong stable at Wyong and appears to have plenty of depth among his rising three-year-olds judging by his results at this session. Apart from TURF FEVER he won another 2YO heat over 845m with YOUNG BRAVO (52.36; 35.41), an unraced colt by All Too Hard who made good improvement from his first trial last month.

Cosmic Force is also the sire of the unraced FERINZO, another sharp 2YO heat winner in good time (51.36; 35.00) for the Jake Huill stable.

The fastest 845m heat was won by MOONLIGHT GRACE (50.71; 34.67) where the work of MEMORIA to finish second under a quiet ride stood out. Other good 845m trials came from the heat winner MR BINGO (51.80; 35.04) and placegetter SOSUEME.

Another local trainer Sara Ryan produced two smart winners in the 1000m heats with CIREBON coasting to win his open heat by three lengths (61.06; 35.13) and her unraced 2YO stablemate FIREWORK, a Written Tycoon youngster, impressing to win his second trial by five lengths in good time for the session (61.01; 35.58).

The pacy SALISANO won the fastest open heat over 1000m (60.26; 34.92) while Annabel Neasham's talented import REDSTONE WELL looked strong finishing off for second in a quick heat won by AUDETTE (60.56; 35.01).
