Selections and best bets from Chris Scholtz for the Flemington and Rosehill meetings on November 2 plus Trial Watch and Blackbook runners.
ROSEHILL November 2
Best Bets
RACE 6 (4) DOLLAR MAGIC: Remarkably consistent sprinter out of a place just four times in 20 starts. He's been in the money in all four Rosehill starts including three over this trip and will be much fitter for his first-up placing behind Pharari in this class at this course three weeks ago. Stays on the same weight and from his inside draw will get every chance camped on the pace.
RACE 7 (3) BELLA NIPOTINA: Won this race last year, beating the 2022 winner Private Eye, and again rates as the one to beat after her superb Everest win when she dug deep after racing three wide. Craig Williams understand her perfectly and is sure to give her every chance from a kinder draw with some give in the ground to her advantage.
RACE 10 (9) BULLETS HIGH: Heavily supported to win first-up over 1400m at Warwick Farm for his third win in nine starts. He's an emerging talent with big scope for improvement off his resuming win with his astute trainer having him well placed to progress from that performance.

TRIAL POINTERS
HAWKESBURY October 28: BLUE ILLUSION added another impressive win to his trial record in his 800m heat (47.08; 32.72).
RANDWICK October 22: The $1.6 million colt BODYGUARD obviously enjoyed being back home and will be a different prospect the next time he goes to the races. Turned around his first-up form at Flemington with a classy win by almost seven lengths in the fastest 1045m heat (61.36; 33.11), running clear from the start under a big hold and trucking through his last 600m after his rider Zac Lloyd could not hold him any slower.
NEWCASTLE October 22: Unraced Harry Angel colt PRIVATE HARRY is building a strong trial profile, having won four of his five trials since January. He'll be well found when he goes to the races after running away with this 940m trial by more than four lengths in the fastest of the 17 heats over the distance (55.26; 33.94). JEDIBEEL is the type you would love to own, being a model of consistency who puts in every time with six wins and six placings from his 14 starts. Enjoyed a short spell after he won at Rosehill in July and looks ready to go again after an impressive win in a fast 742m heat (43.42; 32.96), picking them up easily over the last 200m under no pressure.
ROSEHILL October 18: SCHWARZ went missing after he finished fifth in a black type trial at Randwick in late August that followed his classy win in the G2 Missile Stakes. An issue may have arisen that prevented him from contesting some obvious sprint targets over the Sydney carnival but showed he was back in the right form with a sharp win in his 900m heat (54.09; 34.28), sitting off the leader and extending nicely to cruise home by an unextended 2.6 lengths. In the trials over 1030m the maiden heat winner POINT AND SHOOT (61.08; 34.82) had been noted in previous trials and his effort at this session confirmed that he has the talent to win races
HAWKESBURY October 14: It's a rare day when reliable 7YO TAMERLANE doesn't trial well. Went about his business in his usual confident style, sitting a length off the leader before responding well when called on to go home best in his 800m heat (47.03; 32.76) under a soft ride. Impressive win by Blue Point 3YO BLUE ILLUSION in the fastest of the three 800m heats (46.70; 32.47). Placed in three of his six starts last season in good company, he was too sharp for his rivals leading under a hold and showing sharp acceleration off the turn to run through the line 2.5 lengths clear with plenty in reserve. Hard to beat in a suitable maiden.
ROSEHILL October 4: The maiden heats were chock full of good trials. Mark down the winner SHARON DRIVE and placegetter POINT AND SHOOT as good prospects for an early win.
WARWICK FARM September 30: In the maiden heats a notable effort from the unraced ROTAGILLA was a good indicator.
RANDWICK August 30: In the faster of two black type heats over 900m (53.20; 33.10) SCHWARZ led but dropped back over the last 200m to finish fifth.
