Bucharest, who is also by the late Deep Impact, remains unbeaten.
The blue-blood bred Reaching (4 m Deep Impact - Alinghi by Encosta De Lago) - the last foal out of high-class racemare Alinghi (Encosta De Lago) - added a touch of class to the midweek card at Newcastle on Tuesday when she got off the mark in the Australian Bloodstock Maiden Handicap (1500m), while Bucharest (3 c Deep Impact - Miss Finland by Redoute's Choice) preserved his unbeaten record at the track.
The Kim Waugh-trained four-year-old, who was bred and now raced by Arrowfield Stud, stayed on well to beat Canadian Spice (Vancouver) by a neck with another three-quarters of a length back to Bob (Pierro) in third.
The four-year-old mare is out of three time Group 1 winner Alinghi (Encosta De Lago), who is herself a grandam of Group 3-placed pair Extra Olives (Redoute's Choice) and Regatta Rebel (Redoute's Choice).
The mare's second dam is Listed-placed Oceanfast (Monde Bleu) - the dam of Slice Of Paradise (Encosta De Lago), who in turn produced Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed Beneteau (Redoute's Choice).
Alinghi died at Arrowfield Stud in 2017.
Meanwhile on the next race on the card, the Chris Waller-trained Bucharest - a son of Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) and multiple Group 1 winner Miss Finland (Redoute's Choice) - preserved his unbeaten record in the Sage Painting Handicap (1400m).
Last seen making a winning debut at the same track on August 13, the colt beat Highmaster (Poet's Voice) by half a length with Land Ahoy (Dundeel) another length and a quarter further back in third.
Miss Finland landed 11 races, including five at Group 1 level and her progeny is headed by Stay With Me (Street Cry), who emulated her mother by winning the Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m), while her other daughter Earth Angel (Animal Kingdom) was placed at Group 3 level.
Further back this colt's third dam is Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f) winner Moonshell (Sadler's Wells), who also finished third in the 1,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m).
In 2018 Miss Finland produced a colt by Arrowfield shuttler Shalaa (Invincible Spirit), before missing to Yarraman Park-based sire I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) the following year. The daughter of Redoute's Choice (Danehill) is in foal to Dundeel (High Chaparral), meaning the resulting foal will be a brother to winner Nordicus.
Deep Impact is represented in the southern hemisphere by his sire sons; Saxon Warrior and Tosen Stardom, who stand Coolmore Stud and Woodside Park Stud respectively.
The son of Sunday Silence (Halo), who stood at the Shadai Stallion Station for his whole breeding career, died last year.
