Princess Spice gets off the mark at Wagga Wagga
Kitchwin Hills-based first-season stallion Sooboog (Snitzel) sired his seventh winner and second in as many days when Princess Spice (2 f ex Princess Ailani by Myboycharlie) chalked up her first win at the second time of asking when she landed a 1000 metre maiden at Wagga Wagga on Sunday.
Trained by Tash Burleigh, the filly defeated Liberalized (Statue Of Liberty) by a quarter of a length, while Openhimup (Moshe) was a further nose away in third.
The filly is the first winner out of three time-winning Myboycharlie (Danetime) mare Princess Ailani and her third dam is Listed winner Hitapotomoss (Twig Moss) and she is herself a half-sister to fellow Listed winner Spectrolite (Stratum).
Princess Spice was the final foal out of Princess Ailani, with the mare having died in 2018.
Sooboog chalked up his sixth winner on Saturday when Mihocek broke his maiden over 1400 metres at Kembla Grange. Princess Spice and Mihocek join Birdsville, Jessica Rabbit, Boudica's Gift, Emma Rosa and Moonlit Rose as the stallion’s other winners.
The stallion has three lots catalogued at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, which gets underway on the Gold Coast on May 20.
Sooboog now sits level with Vinery Stud-based Star Turn (Star Witness) in second behind Capitalist - who has sired eight winners - in the leading first-season sire championship by number of winners.
