Inglis has released the catalogue for its first live auction of 2023 with the lots that make up next year's Inglis Classic Sale now available online.

The sale that has produced the winners of the Melbourne Cup, The Everest and Golden Slipper, among other prestigious events, in the past six years will next year see 830 lots by 109 different stallions offered across three days, February 12-14.

The first 690 lots make up Book 1 with the ensuing 140 lots comprising the Highway Session.

The catalogue has progeny by proven stallions including I Am Invincible, Extreme Choice, Written Tycoon, Zoustar, Snitzel, Kingman, Deep Field, So You Think, Exceed And Excel, Fastnet Rock and Shamus Award, while Exceedance, Yes Yes Yes, Too Darn Hot and Blue Point are among the first-season sires represented.

"Demand for places in the sale was extraordinary and the result of that is the most exciting, diverse and strongest Classic catalogue we have ever had,'' Inglis NSW bloodstock manager Chris Russell said.

"The best breeders and vendors in Australia and New Zealand all wanted to be involved in the Classic Sale because they know what a progressive sale it is.

"Not only has it produced recent G1 winners like Mazu and Icebath and Shelby Sixtysix etc, but there have been 16 Classic graduates to earn $1 million or more in Australia since 2018 including Classique Legend, Sejardan, Profiteer, Prime Star, Sweet Deal, Fiesta, Pippie, Chapada, Rubisaki etc.

"It is undoubtedly the best value of the early Southern Hemisphere yearling sales. The average price that an Australian Stakes winner since 2018 could have been bought for at Classic is just over $100,000, which makes it significantly better value than other sales in the early part of the sales season.''

Vow And Declare, Classique Legend, She Will Reign, Castelvecchio and Extreme Choice are among those to have been offered at Classic since 2016.

Hard copies of the catalogue for next year's sale will be available in a fortnight but it is available for viewing online via inglis.com.au
