Lanwades Stud has announced the birth of Alpinista's (Frankel) sister, a filly out of Alwilda (Hernando). The filly is the fourth generation of the family to be bred by Lanwades Stud.

Trained in Newmarket by Sir Mark Prescott for Kirsten Rausing, Alpanista won six Group 1 races in three different countries and was unbeaten in her four and five-year-old seasons.

She was retired last year having won the Group 1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (2400m) at Longchamp in October. She started three times as a five-year-old last year with her other wins coming in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks (1m4) and Prix de Saint-Cloud (2400m).

Alwilda will visit Juddmonte Farm's Frankel (Galileo) again this spring.
