Son of Kingman to be offered to breeders at a fee of NZ$7,000.
Group 1-placed King Of Comedy (Kingman) will stand at Novara Park in 2021 for an introductory fee of NZ$7,000 (plus GST).
A winner of three of his 12 starts, headed by a victory in the Heron Stakes (Listed, 1m) at Sandown in 2019 and he was next seen finishing a neck behind Circus Maximus (Galileo), who will shuttle to Windsor Park Stud this season, in the St James's Palace Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) at Royal Ascot. The son of Kingman (Invincible Spirit) accrued £236,489 throughout his career.
Luigi Muollo - owner of Novara Park - said he had been on the lookout for a son of the Juddmonte Farms-based sire.
"He is one of the hottest names in European bloodstock circles, and King Of Comedy ticked all the boxes of pedigree, racetrack performance, type and commercial appeal," said Muollo.
"The fact that King Of Comedy had tremendous ability leading him to at one point being rated the best three-year-old in Europe and is a son of the mighty Kingman will make him an easy choice for breeders. He is a magnificent individual. He is a beautiful bay, very correct and will let down into a lovely stallion.
"His sire Kingman has been a great success so he possesses all the genetic ingredients to make a successful sire. He will be a very valuable addition to the New Zealand stallion ranks and we will be making available a limited number of Lifetime Breeding Rights in the horse."
King Of Comedy is out of dual-winning Selkirk (Sharpen Up) mare Stage Presence, making him a half-brother to Group 1 winner Star Of Seville (Duke Of Marmalade) and Group 3 scorer English Ballet (Danehill Dancer) and Spectacular Show (Spectrum) - the dam of Valbchek (Acclamation).
The stallion's second dam is stakes-placed Park Charger (Tirol) and she in turn produced Group 3 scorer Rum Charger (Spectrum) - the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Winchester (Theatrical) and Grade 3 scorer Middleburg (Lemon Drop Kid).
King Of Comedy will stand at Novara Park Stud alongside resident stallions Sweynesse (Lonhro) and Staphanos (Deep Impact) and their fees will be announced in the coming weeks.
