Art Collector to Claiborne

Fee for Grade 1 winner to be announced at a later date

The Bill Mott-trained Art Collector (Bernardini) will stand at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky when he retires from racing. A fee will be announced at a later date.

"We are thrilled to stand another exciting stallion prospect for longtime client Bruce Lunsford," said Claiborne Farm's Walter Hancock. "Art Collector has the qualities we look for in a stallion and we believe he will be very well received among breeders upon his retirement from racing."

A dual winner at two, Art Collector won his first stakes race at three when he captured the Grade 2 Blue Grass Stakes (9f) at Keeneland when trained by Thomas Drury Jr. As a four-year-old he was transferred to Mott's stable, adding a second Grade 2 victory in the Charles Town Classic (9f) before landing the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes (9f) at Belmont Park last October. Art Collector added a second Charles Town Classic to his resume earlier this year and his current race record stands at 10 wins and one placing in 20 career starts.

By Bernardini (A P Indy), Art Collector is out of the Listed winner and Grade 1 placed mare Distorted Legacy (Distorted Humor). Hi second dam is stakes placed mare Bunting (Private Account), dam of 11 winners from 13 foals to race including the Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed sire Vision And Verse (Storm Cat).
