The Stonestreet Stables-owned Ruthin (2 f ex Selinka by Selkirk) scored a dominant debut win at Keeneland on Friday to become the first winner for Haunui Farm shuttler Ribchester (Iffraaj).

Trained by Wesley Ward, Ruthin jumped well and went straight to the front and was never caught to pull away to a six length victory over five and a half furlongs on turf.

Bought for 350,000gns by Ben McElroy at last year's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1, the most expensive yearling to sell by the sire from his first Northern Hemisphere-bred crop, Ruthin becomes the fifth winner for her dam, dual Listed winner Selkina (Selkirk). Her winners are headed by Group 3 winner Hit The Bid (Exceed And Excel).

Ribchester had two lots sell during Karaka Book 1 for a total of NS$360,000. His advertised fee at Darley's Kildangan Stud this year is €17,500.
