Sheamus Mills Bloodstock has negotiated the purchase of the well-performed stallion on behalf of a private client with a stud yet to be selected for the son of Elusive Quality.

“We are wrapped to get hold of a horse with his credentials. He is by Sepoy's sire Elusive Quality and is a half brother to triple Group One winner Helmet and Black Opal Stakes winner Epaulette,” said Mills.

A metropolitan winner at Caulfield in his only two-year-old start, Bullbars won the G3 C.S Hayes as a three-year-old and was second in the G1 Australian Guineas behind the subsequent AJC Derby winner Shamrocker.

Bullbars was the first foal of the imported Singspiel mare Accessories who then produced Caulfield Guineas, AJC Sires' Produce Stakes and AJC Champagne Stakes winner Helmet followed by Epaulette.

“It’s an unbelievable family. These are the first three foals from the mare.

"If Epaulette happened to go on and win the Golden Slipper, she could well be considered the most valuable broodmare in Australasia," Mills said.

Elusive Quality is the sire of 72 stakes winners world-wide including the young stallions Smarty Jones (Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes), Raven’s Pass (Breeders Cup Classic, Queen Elizabeth Stakes) and Quality Road (Florida Derby, Woodward Stakes) as well as the proven Elusive City who has sired 15 stakes winners.
