Valentia Joins Cornerstone Roster

South Australia’s Cornerstone Stud will add Valentia, a Group winning son of Fastnet Rock, to its 2016 roster.

Valentia wil stand at Cornerstone in association with Louis Le Metayer’s Astute Bloodstock.

Valentia, trained by Gai Waterhouse, won the G2 Skyline Stakes at Rosehill as a two-year-old, a race previously won by the likes of Snitzel, Choisir, and Fastnet Rock’s current boom sire son Hinchinbrook.

A $1.35 million Magic Millions yearling, Valenmtia was a dual winner at two and is one of only six Group winning two-year-old colts by Fastnet Rock.

As a three-year-old Valentia was third in the G3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m) and third in the G2 Stan Fox Stakes (1400m) befoire a tendon injury ended his career.

Valentia’s dam Smart Company is a winning sister to dual G1 winner Super Elegant, by Mister C.

Valentia will stand at a fee of $11,000 inc. GST.
