A timely run of form for the progeny of consistent stallion Sharkbite has highlighted the relocation of the Redoute's Choice stallion to Moorookyle Park in Victoria.
Sharkbite was recently represented by a winning treble with. His only three runners on the day won a doubl;e at Edenhope and another race at Port Augusta.
Sharkbite, a $900,000 purchase from 2005 Easter Yearling Sale, won five races from 1000m to 1700m.Unbeaten from two starts at two, he quickly earned black type as a three-year-old finishing second to Haradasun in the Listed Vain Stakes and third in two G3 events.
He won at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day and went on to win the Listed Lord Stakes at Caulfield.At stud Sharkbite has proven a reliable source of winners with the likes of Andrassy, Viaductress and Jaws Of Steel.
Andrassy has won two city races this season and boasts a strike rate of five wins from 16 starts whilst Viaductress was impressive overcoming trouble in running to salute at Canterbury in May, her third success from just eight outings.The promising 2YO Jaws Of Steel caught the eye with a fast finishing third at Flemington last month.
One of Redoute's Choice's 133 stakes winners, Sharkbite is a full brother to the recently retired dual G3 winner Scissor Kick and hails from one of the world's great families, his grandam being a half-sister to superstar broodmare Hasili.The Listed winning Hasili produced five individual G1 winners at stud - Champs Elysees, Banks Hill, Intercontinental, Cacique and Heat Haze.
Another of her sons, the triple Group winner Dansili, has proven himself to be one of Danehill's finest sire sons being represented by 107 stakes winners including several who have raced extremely well in this part of the world such as Foreteller, Dandino, Grand Marshal, Nevis, Index Linked, Renew, Permit, Soft Sand, Stipulate and Trick Of Light.Also hailing from this prolific family is the late Leroidesanimaux, the triple G1 winning sire of the Kentucky Derby/Dubai World Cup hero Animal Kingdom and recently retired Caulfield Guineas winner Press Statement.
Purchased recently by a syndicate, Sharkbite will be well supported by the group's own mares including the G3 winner Smytzer's Trish, the dam of Redoute's Choice's stakes winner Swish Trish, and Pride Of Ardrossan, the dam of Andrassy.
