Oratorio Filly Wins Italian Oaks

Cherry Collect, a filly by Coolmore's shuttle sire Oratorio, confirmed her place as one of Europe's best three-year-old fillies on Saturday when she completed a classic double in the Italian Oaks at San Siro.

The filly, a three-time Listed-winning juvenile last year, headed to San Siro on the back of a victory in the G3 Premio Regina Elena (Italian 1000 Guineas).

The Stefano Botti-trained Cheery Collect (Oratorio x Holy Moon, by Hernando) was bred by Razza del Velino looked even better in a competitive renewal of the G2 Oaks d'Italia as she swooped in the home straight to land the prestigious prize by a length and a half.

She relished the step up to a mile and three furlongs after racing exclusively over a mile.
