Tasleet continued his fine run of form to win the DBS Premier Yearling Sales Stakes at York to become the second winner of a major yearling sales race for his shuttle sire Showcasing.

Trained by William Haggas, Tasleet is a member of Showcasing’s second Northern Hemisphere crop and races for Sheikh Hamdan.

He is already a stakes winner having landed the Listed Rosebowl Stakes in July before a second in the G2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and is now set for the G1 Middle Park Stakes.

Showcasing was the leading first season sire in the UK and Ireland in 2014 and his first crop have continued their success in 2015 with over 30 winners including G2 winner and G1 performer Prize Exhibit.

In New Zealand his first Southern Hemisphere crop saw Showcasing crowned Champion 2YO & First Season Sire for the 2014/2015 season.

His first NZ crop featured Karaka Million winner Hardline and Wakefield Stakes winner Showboy among four stakes performers.

Another NZ-based shuttler Mastercraftsman added his latest Group winner in the UK on Saturday when his four-year-old Nakuti won the G3 Atalanta Stakes at Sandown.

The Sylvester Kirk-trained Nakuti (Mastercraftsman x Sheba Five by Five Star Day) had won the Listed Pipalong Stakes at Pontefract earlier this year and stayed in training after her owners reversed a decision to send her to stud at the end of her three-year-old season.
