The sale will be held on May 9, 10 and 11 and features 539 lots comprising 294 weanlings, 16 yearlings, 11 two-year-olds, 7 unraced filies and mares, 8 tried horses, 197 broodmares and six stallion shares.

This sale has been a rich source of black-type winners producing 58 individual stakes winners since 2011 including New Zealand Derby winner Puccini.

Last month Honor That, a $4000 purchase at the 2015 sale, earned black-type with a win in the Listed NZB Airfreight Stakes at Wingatui.

The likes of Puccini, Tavy, What Choux Want, Rocanto, Electric Aura, Battle Plan and The Dom have also had black-type placings in strong company this season.

High interest will surround Lot 209, a weanling filly by Cape Blanco out of Indomitable (Danehill). Offered by Mana Park, the filly is a half-sister to three-time G1 winner Turn Me Loose (Iffraaj).

Weanlings include first crop progeny by Dawn Approach, Unencumbered, Camelot, Jakkalberry, Ferlax, Eurozone, Epaulette, Declaration Of War, Shamexpress, Albrecht and Sweet Orange.

Proven sires represented include O’Reilly, Tavistock, Choisir, Darci Brahma, Showcasing, Makfi, Jimmy Choux, So You Think, Alamosa, Ocean Park, I Am Invincible, Hinchinbrook, Pins, Shocking, Per Incanto, Iffraaj, Rip Van Winkle, Power, Foxwedge, Swiss Ace and many more.

Hawera-based Dan Myers, a highly successful breeder of many black-type performers including recent G2 Wellington Guineas winner The Justice League, will present his entire crop of 2015 foals at the May Sale.

They include a half sister to The Justice League and a filly by I Am Invincible out of the stakes-performed mare Pipette (Pivotal), who descends from an international G1 family.

The broodmare section includes stakes-winning mare Ritzy Lady (Zabeel), G1 placegetter Corsage (Volksraad), G1 producer Bianca Bay (Bianconi), a ful sister to ATC Oaks winer Gust Of Wind and half-sisters to G1 winners Rollout The Carpet, Tarzino, Volkstok’n’barrell, Zabrasive and Dealer Principal.
