Windsor Park Stud has added another two new sires to its 2017 roster with the acquisition of Group One performers Vanbrugh and Rageese from Australia.
Both 4YOs are co-owned by Windsor Park and have Group One assignments before the end of the current season.
Windsor Park recently announced that triple G1 winner Turn Me Loose would also be joining the stud’s roster this year."The important thing with Vanbrugh, Rageese and Turn Me Loose is they have all competed successfully at the highest level in Australia,” said Windsor Park’s Rodney Schick.
"They are outstanding types with pedigrees to match and now, with the recent announcements around boosted prizemoney, Windsor Park are excited to offer breeders three new high class stallion prospects ".Vanbrugh, a debut winning 2YO at Randwick and G1 winner of the Spring Champion Stakes at three, was also a Group winner at Melbourne's spring carnival this season defeating the recent G1 Doncaster Mile winner It's Somewhat in the Coongy Handicap.
A son of multiple champion sire Encosta De Lago, Vanbrugh is the winner of more than $A745,000. He hails from the outstanding NZ family of G1 winners Diademe and Sacred Star.The Chris Waller trained Vanbrugh will have his next start in the G1 Doomben Cup in Brisbane.
Street Cry's son Rageese, owned in partnership with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, finished second in the G1 ATC Sires' Produce Stakes at Randwick as a 2YO behind another Street Cry star Pride Of Dubai.Rageese's spring form s a 3YO included third in the G2Stan Fox Stakes, fourth in the G1 Golden Rose and fifth in the G1 Caulfield Guineas.
He won in the H C Nitschke Stakes at Morphettville and this season has added the G3 L'Oreal Paris Stakes at Flemington.Rageese is a direct descendant of champion mare Emancipation (Bletchingly) and is closely related to G1 winners Virage De Fortune and Stratum Star.
He boasts global influences Dehere, Sunday Silence and Danehill as his first three dam sires.The Darren Weir-trained Rageese runs next in the G1 Goodwood Handicap in Adelaide and may then fo to Brisbane for the G1 Stradbroke Handicap.
Both Rageese and Vanbrugh will retire to stud at the end of the current season.
