The Money Trail – Sandown, November 16

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting Wednesday’s meeting at Sandown.

Open House (Race 2) has been backed into clear second favouritism at $3.20 after firming a point and a quarter. The filly started at big odds on debut but was far too good when winning by 3L at Cranbourne and the punters are expecting her to take the step up to city class today.

Deja Blue (Race 3) is in to an odds on quote at $1.75, 25 cents shorter than his opening quote. She resumes but was very good last campaign, winning first up at sale before running consecutive seconds on both the Lakeside and Hillside tracks at this course.

Madam Mouton (Race 5) could be worth an each way ticket at $6.50 after firming six full points since trading began. The lightly-raced Ciaron Maher-trained filly won her maiden by a handy margin last start and should improve again third up.

Temps Voleur (Race 7) has more than halved his opening quote to $6.50 after opening well into double figure odds. He has been working his way to fitness in shorter races so should be ready for the step up today and has won three of six runs at this track.

St Swithuns (Race 8) opened as the second favourite but has taken over at the head of the market at $3.20 after shortening more than a point since this morning. She drops in grade after taking on a G3 last time and had two wins and a second from her previous three starts.
