The Money Trail – Gosford, April 11

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Gosford.

Mandolize (Race 2) is second pick in the market and closed the gap on the favourite at $2.80 after firming a half point early on. The three-year-old has been runner up at both starts since a spell and should be ready to produce his best third up.

Bastia (Race 3) has taken over as favourite at $2.70 after firming more than a half point. The gelding was down the track last time but had won when resuming and the punters are giving him another chance third up and stepping out to the mile.

Not To Be Caught (Race 5) has tightened his grip on favouritism at $2.45 having firmed 30 cents. The filly is working up to a win after two close seconds and the market push suggests today could be her day.

Diplomacia (Race 6) opened as the favourite but now stands well clear at the head of the market at $2.40 after shortening a point. The filly was a good second when resuming and showed promise last campaign with back to back provincial wins.

Kev's Babe (Race 8) opened at double figures but has firmed more than six points to $4.80. The mare resumes and while she has never fired fresh before she was just nosed out in a recent trial and the market push suggests much is expected this time.
