His latest effort was a clear cut success at Wagga over this trip and the five-year-old finds himself contesting a similar race at Moruya this afternoon.
An on pacer, Onetonnegun has drawn ideally in barrier 3.
Under the guidance of Brendan Ward, the pair will roll forward from the handy draw with the leading country hoop expected to either lead or potentially take a sit behind the early pacesetters.
Onetonnegun should be fitter once again after his second up win at Wagga and looks a great chance of improving on a last start Timeform figure of 86.
Under the care of Gai Waterhouse during his first two maiden preparations, the now Canberra-based galloper ran to a master figure of 95 on two occasions, another factor which suggests there is room for improvement with Onetonnegun.
Freetoair on latest form and figures looms as the main danger.
The Luke Pepper-trained mare resumed in cracking order at Queanbeyan and then lifted again to win on her old home track of Canberra over 1000m.
Freetoair’s latest win was assessed at 85 and is another who with added fitness third up can build on that figure.
Drawn alongside Onetonnegun, Freetoair will likely try and track the chestnut gelding or may even rail up inside him in an attempt to take up the running.
The veteran mare also comes in nicely at the weights courtesy of in form apprentice Brodie Loy with his 3kg claim.
Kembla Grange-based duo Falvesa and Rearing To Win should also feature prominently.
Each take on Onetonnegun with a 4.5kg weight advantage.
Falvesa resumed on her home track last start with a strong second assessed at 74.
The Falvelon mare has produced some of her best efforts over this trip and watch for another forward showing here.
Rearing To Win following a dominant win on his home track has since measured up well in two subsequent starts in midweek company at Canterbury.
The Kerry Parker-trained gelding is another who from a handy draw can inject pace into the race.
Overall though, expect the gun to fire and with some rivals bringing some handy form down the Princes Highway from Sydney, you might just get a decent price about the in form Nick Olive-trained runner.
