The four-year-old gelding drops back in grade and trial form was solid leading into this, running third in his most recent behind Bound To Blush at Warwick Farm.

The David Pfieffer-trained runner was competitive in Saturday metropolitan company at the back end of last preparation and will find this a much easier task.

Brown Doubt, who will be ridden by the in form Blake Shinn has finished in the money on both occasions first up, winning one of them and has a very good record over this distance.

The son of Not A Single Doubt carried the same weight (59kg) to win when resuming at Newcastle last preparation and he does his best racing on a good track.

Has drawn wide here in barrier 13 but generally gets back in the run and will be hitting the line strong.

Monbazillac looks the main danger in this also dropping back in grade. He has been freshened since running fourth at Canterbury last start on the back of a midfield finish in listed company at Canberra.

Peter Moody has put the blinkers on first time but from barrier 12 may find some trouble getting in somewhere as he generally likes to settle off the pace.

Has a solid record at the trip but is dropping from 1550m which may be some concern.

Appears to be a handful of each way chances which includes Falvesa who has finished in the placings two of her last three runs. Not far away at this C/D last start and stays under strong notice.

Casino Swoop also rates a mention running a close second last start at Hawkesbury after not beating a runner home in Group 1 company two back. Drawn well on barrier 4 and this looks a winnable race for him

The resuming Gibraltar’s Gem also looks a danger in this, winning her two recent trials after finishing off last preparation in good order.

She is likely to need more ground but could produce a good run here fresh and stays under strong notice.
