Bendicion All Class

3 minute read

Talented filly Bendicion makes her return at Singapore on Sunday and will be out to continue her impressive record when lining up in the seventh race of the card.

Having only been seen in seven career starts to date the daughter of Black Tide has exhibited plenty of ability and boasts some impressive formlines behind Stepitup and Super Ninetyseven having finished third in the Group 1 Singapore Guineas last time in.

Sent to the paddock on a winning note when proving too good dropping back in grade, Bendicion should hold some residual fitness leading into Sunday's affair having only been off the scene less than three months.

While stepping out over the mile first up may be of some concern the fact that she was clearly at her best over 1600m last time in gives you the confidence that it is her pet trip and can measure up fresh.

Also more notably Hideyuki Takaoka did elect to space her runs throughout her campaign last time in and on one occasion he did have her six weeks between runs where she proved successful so there is little concerns that Takaoka won't have her fit and raring to go.

In seven career starts she has only missed the money on one prior occasion when finishing fifth in the Group 2 Singapore 3YO Classic behind Stepitup and in fact proved very game in defeat on that occasion when working to the line well.

Her biggest pointer on Sunday is how well placed she is on Timeform weight adjusted ratings, if you take a line through her placing in the Singapore Guineas she rates five pounds clear and on her last start victory she rates two pounds clear.

Given she is only lightly raced there is no question that she is still open to plenty of improvement this time in and if able to do so it seems she would prove far too good for her rivals as she should easily have their measure.

Proven to race midfield or just off the speed expect Munro to take up a fairly forward position from the good draw with the Sonny Soon trained Tiger Master and the Brian Dean trained Meaisin likely to take up the running.

Given we have already seen Super Ninetyseven come out and defeat the older horses this time in the form out of this year's Singapore Guineas does appear to be a bit above average and expect her to strengthen that claim on Sunday.

Tiger Master has proven very solid in both starts back this time in and should be right at his peak racing third up in this affair.

Attempting to lead all the way on the polytrack last start the son of Bradbury's Luck opened up a big margin coming into the straight with his fitness only telling late when collared over the concluding stages.

Proven on both the turf and the polytrack he possesses a great record third up having never missed the money and two of his three career victories have come over this trip.

With the aid of the claim he gets in with virtually no weight on his back and has drawn to receive all the favours on the inside.

Likely to take up the running he is expected to give a bold sight as if able to get some cheap sectionals out in front than he should prove very hard to chase down.

The David Kok trained Rude Warrior is clearly a better horse racing on the polytrack however he still cannot be ignored given his good recent form.

Coming from well back over 1800m last start he was only denied victory by the barest of margins when just edged out by Street Legal.

This performance has him well rated in this event and the booking of Joao Moreira appears key to his chances as his strike rate with the David Kok stable is one of the best in Singapore currently at 41%.

Likely to spot the leaders a fair start in this race expect him to be saved up for one last crack at them and be charging home late.

Last start winner Meaisin was successful in notching up a new career peak on the polytrack last start when working home strongly to salute over the mile.

While now a six-year-old he has continued to show good improvement this time in and his strong record on the turf bolsters his chances in this affair having placed in five of his nine attempts at this track.

Danny Beasley sticks aboard here and boasts a handy record with the Dean stable currently striking at 21%.

From the inside draw he is expected to not be far away and could end up taking up the running if Tiger Master doesn't press on and lead.

With little speed engaged both he and Tiger Master could get an easy time in front and prove to fight it out.

Good luck and happy punting.
