Set to contest the opening event over 900m, the daughter of Swiss Ace placed in two of three attempts last preparation.

Alpen Rose finished a close fourth in the Listed Woodlands Stakes at Scone two back and is very well placed on Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

Unseen since May, Alpen Rose is expected to have improved further off a break, with her latest trial effort solid at Scone.

The wide draw appears her main obstacle as Robert Thompson is expected to settle her towards the rear.

Over the 900m scamper, it can be hard for horses to make up significant ground from the back.

Nonetheless she does look to hold a class edge over her rivals and should prove very hard to hold out.

The Craig Roberts trained Alsoadamas shapes as Alpen Rose's biggest danger, as he two makes his return off some handy 2YO form.

He was outclassed behind Earthquake on debut before finishing midfield behind Memorial.

His latest effort prior to a break was poor, however he has since been gelded and is a big watch in this affair.

Early money suggests he has returned in good order and he looks to hold solid claims from the gun draw.

The Jan Bowen trained Sapience has raced in fair order this time in and shapes as the next in line.

His effort at Scone last start was solid enough and the sharp drop back in trip should aid his chances.

From the wide draw he is expected to roll forward and settle up on the speed.

Whether he has the class to defeat the top two remains to be seen, however he still must be respected.

Of the rest the Paul Perry trained Galizia remains under strong notice on debut.

Her latest trial effort at Newcastle was quite encouraging and she is expected to make her presence felt.

Good luck and happy punting.
