The Leslie Khoo trained Fastnet Dragon appears well placed to continue his rise through the grades when set to contest the fifth event at Singapore this afternoon.
Successful in bringing up the hat-trick last start, Fastnet Dragon continues to raise the bar and remains one of Khoo's more promising gallopers in his stable.
An impressive winner at the course and distance two back, Fastnet Dragon would again prove too strong when upstaging the Stephen Gray trained Great Scott.Ridden by Allan Munro, Fastnet Dragon was forced to travel three-wide throughout, when unable to slot in from the wide draw.
Pressed forward rounding the home turn, Fastnet Dragon improved to be within striking distance, pulling one of the widest runner on straightening.Under a good hold, Fastnet Dragon travelled powerfully and went let rip he quickly surged up to the lead inside the 300m.
Great Scott stuck on well along the inside, however he was no match with Fastnet Dragon drawing away to score by just under a length.Improving 12 pounds on his previous best, Fastnet Dragon has now improved 26 pounds since his debut for the Khoo stable (March 1st).
Comparatively he recorded the second quickest time of the night, marked just over two lengths slower than Class 2 victor Darci Charmer - notably he carried 2.5kg more than the latter.Lining up for his sixth start, Fastnet Dragon has always given the impression he would be better over further and now gets the chance to confirm that notion.
The wide draw is against, however expect Alan Munro to settle Fastnet Dragon midfield with the Brian Dean trained Eagle Storm taking up the running.Using Timeform weight adjusted ratings Fastnet Dragon appears very well placed and sets a good standard if able to repeat the level of his last start performance.
In the field of 10 he looks to possess the most scope and unlike a majority of his rivals he is yet to reach his respective mark.Fastnet Dragon remained ahead of the handicapper last start and while this is obviously harder he appears more than capable of taking that next step and should prove very hard to beat.
The Stephen Gray stable is simply flying of late and have to respect Twickenham as while unable to win this time in, his form has held plenty of merit.A winner of four of his nine career starts, Twickenham has always displayed above average ability and is another who should improve stepping up to the mile.
The form through the likes of Majestic Moments and A La Victory reads well moving forward and he should enjoy a lovely run in transit from the rails draw.Although below his best last start a return to his better form should see him right around the mark in this event.
The Desmond Koh trained Wonderful Prince has returned two encouraging performances to begin this campaign and appears set to peak racing third up.An eye catcher behind A La Victory last start he gives the impression he will improve further up to the mile and measures right up on best form.
A winner of four of his 13 starts, he is clearly capable when right and while regular rider Manoel Nunes is not aboard, still expect him to be right in the finish with Benny Woodworth aboard.Of the rest the Brian Dean trained Eagle Storm cannot be taken lightly as he looks to get the race run to suit from the middle draw.
With not a great deal of speed engaged he should get his own way in front and if able to pinch a few cheap sectionals he could prove hard to catch.His best form rates well using Timeform weight adjusted ratings and has to be kept safe.
