Timeform Preview - Geelong August 9

3 minute read

Red Ticker looks well placed again when lining up in the Benchmark 64 Handicap (1900m) at Geelong today.

The team Hayes & Dabernig-trained runner returned in good order with a win at this course and has since gone on to finish runner up in his last two outings.

Settling back in field once again last time out, Red Ticker made good ground in the straight but was unable to reel in the eventual winner over the concluding stages.

The now four-year-old gelding rates well against his rivals today on the back of that effort and remains in the same class with the 60kg again.

Still yet to really prove himself over the 1900m trip but against these if he runs up to his last start effort that should be enough to get the job done with Mark Zahra to remain on board.

All three runs on the synthetic this campaign have been very good and expect him to be getting to the line strongly and returning to the winners circle.

Cool comes out of the same race last time out when well back in third but his form for the most part has been pretty solid in recent times.

Has failed to win in a well over a year but recent form on the synthetic tracks measure up pretty well in this company.

Drawn to get a much better run from barrier 2 and has shown enough in recent times to suggest he will be very competitive.

Mi Lads Princess also stays under strong notice having not been too far away in recent times.

Steps up to the 1900m for the first time today and did not have much luck when caught wide throughout at Pakenham last start.

Ben Melham takes the ride for the first time today and expect her to get a much better run from barrier 5.

Lycka Till rounds out the main chances and also comes out of the same race as Red Ticker when fourth last time out.

Long time between wins now however his best form measures up well to these although the 60kg may be his downfall again.

Good Luck!
