Don De La Vega To Fly Fresh

3 minute read

The Cliff Brown trained Don De La Vega went to the paddock in great form and remains a big watch fresh in the final event at Singapore.

Only lightly raced Don De La Vega displayed good ability in his maiden preparation and has trialled very well in the lead up.

Off the scene for 138 days, Don De La Vega has had the three trials in the lead up and Rodd appears a key booking.

Rodd is yet to ride the three-year-old, but you must always take note when he rides for the Cliff Brown stable.

Another push is that he has ridden Don De La Vega at all three trials this time in.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, Don De La Vega appears well placed, despite giving weight away to some more experienced opposition.

He is expected to be better over further, but can certainly sprint well fresh over the 1400m journey.

Just hoping Rodd can be aggressive from the wide draw and either lead or sit just off the speed.

No doubt he'll improve on whatever he does this evening, however he still should prove very hard to beat.

The Shane Baertschiger trained Farees displayed good improvement last start and should be right at his peak racing fourth up.

While no match for River Golden last start, his performance in finishing second still held merit and he appears suited by the step up in trip.

From the awkward draw he is expected to settle back in the field, but should be strong late under John Powell.

The James Peters trained King Of War has failed to really come into contention at both runs back, however he should be right at his peak third up and remains under strong notice.

A winner of one of 14, he has placed on a further six occasions and has placed in four of five attempts at this track.

His sole victory to date came over this trip and he has to be included in the main hopes.

Of the rest the Alvin Tan trained Vesonotio appears the next in line.

An impressive maiden winner last start, he appears capable of taking that next step.

Good luck and happy punting.
