Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Orange, Grafton, Kyneton and Gatton.

ORANGE: RACE 4 @ 4:05 PM

IOWNA BENZ (1) was well found by punters and got the job done in great style on debut last start over 900m at Newcastle, kicking right away to salute by 2.5 lengths. Doesn't face a terribly deep race here so she looks a big chance to keep the perfect start intact. THE MOOCH (9) has won just once in 24 starts but is racing well. Led in a change of pattern last time over this distance at Queanbeyan then battled on strongly for a close second. Cahill to ride is a positive move. Looks the main threat. RAINING CUBES (2) had his first run since July 2023 when a moderate fifth over 1100m at Forbes recently. Will no doubt take a lot from that hit-out and should be more competitive. SARDONYX (4) failed in heavy going first-up at Scone over 900m. Best form comes at this trip on firmer ground so worth another chance. PLAY THE RECORD (7) is racing well this prep and has claims from a good draw with no weight.
SELECTIONS: Iowna Benz to win again.

GRAFTON: RACE 7 @ 5:30 PM

KHAMIS (14) promising Pariah filly who ploughed through the heavy (10) conditions when a dominant 6 len winner on debut over 1400m at this track three weeks ago. Expected to have improved further and will have little trouble running out a strong 1630m. OTTOMAN EMPIRE (4) third-up here and placed third-up in the past. Finished over the top of them late when a gritty nose winner over 1550m at this track on October 1. Saves his best for this track and the extra trip suits. HOTZINO (12) is back in trip today on the firmer surface after disappointing when seventh over 2350m at this track in the heavy going on October 1. Senior rider on and she has top four prospects. VETOED (16) looking for this trip now after failing to sprint with them when fourth over 1300m at Ballina two-and-a-half weeks ago. Placed this trip and she gets the right race set up.
SELECTIONS: Khamis to win.

KYNETON: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM

UNDAUNTING (10) was narrowly beaten at Bendigo and then again at Tatura when heavily bet. Expect to see her back on the pace today and the extra metres won't be an issue. Hard to beat. SALSITA (6) needed the first-up outing. He will be much sharper over the longer trip and has plenty up his sleeve. Maps for a soft run. TOP HONOURS (7) disappointed as the favourite at Moe but he was narrowly beaten prior, also over a mile. Has an awkward barrier but the 1875m should hold no fears. IT'S MY PARTY (12) comes back 200m and that may suit. She positions forward and is going okay.
SELECTIONS: Backing Undaunting.

GATTON: RACE 1 @ 12:57 PM

DOWNEY (2) has hit the top five in four of five starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Has placed over this distance range, strips fitter third-up from the spell, and gets 2kg weight relief with the claim. Ticks plenty of boxes. ANTILLES (9) has been thereabouts in both runs this time in work and will be at her peak now third-up from the break. Another to get some weight off and looms as the main danger. RIPPER SHANK (7) has placed one from one around this circuit and is better than the first-up effort suggests. Worth another chance. BRIGHT FLAMES (14) has placed at her past couple and is one for the multiples. KELLISA (13) put in a career-best performance over this course and distance last time out and draws the inside marble. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Downey to shed the maiden tag.
