Ingrid Turgot produced the biggest win of her career in the Class A Prix de Cabourg (2925m) at Cagnes-sur-Mer on Sunday. She remains undefeated in three starts in 2022 and has an exceptional record over course and distance – three wins and six placings from eleven attempts.
The filly settled into an easy rhythm during the opening lap of the circuit and took up the lead entering the final straight for the first time. She was put under pressure turning for home by Ibis de Chahains but required little encouragement to extend away from the field, recording a winning kilometre rating 1'14"8.
Owner Philippe Savinel was delighted with the performance as Ingrid Turgot had been struggling to beat her rival Ivoire Prestance – finishing runner-up seven times behind the undefeated four-year-old over the last year. Ingrid Turbot has benefited from the colt's absence from the track since August 2021 and continued to improve this past Winter.
With an excellent record over 2925m at Cagnes-sur-Mer, it would be no surprise to see her continue to excel in these conditions.
Based on this run and her continuing progression, a fillies Group Three would be well within her capabilities.
