The beautifully bred French Bob made an ideal start to her career with a comfortable win in the Prix du Grand Chesnay over 1900m at Deauville on Friday. Cristian Demuro settled the filly mid-pack in the early stages of the race and made progress on the outside around the final turn. She took command in the final 200m and ran out a neck winner ahead of Garbo. Rue de l'Aude finished two lengths behind in third. With improvement likely over a longer journey, French Bob looks an ideal prospect for next year's Classic Prix de Diane (G1) and the Prix de Saint-Alary (G1). French Bob is by champion sire Galileo and out of Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (G1) winner Beauty Parlour. Owned by the Wildenstein family, Beauty Parlour followed up her Classic success with a strong second in the Prix de Diane (G1). She was transferred to Sir Henry Cecil for a UK campaign and failed to feature in her final two career starts. At stud, Beauty Parlour has produced three other individual winners including Listed winner Blowout. By Dansili, Blowout was campaigned in the USA and won the Listed Pebble Stakes amongst other Graded placings. |
