Dean Ivory is seriously considering an invitation to the Breeders' Cup for Tropics after he bounced back to form last weekend.
The seven-year-old was agonizingly caught right on the line by Muhaarar in the July Cup, finishing runner-up in the race for the second season in a row.
Tropics has taken his prize money to almost £500,000, but that would be dwarfed if he could win at the Breeders' Cup fixture.
Speaking to Betfred TV, Ivory said: "At the time I was gutted because I thought we had won it, but sadly we hadn't.
"He ran his heart out and we're fortunate to have him, he's been second in three Group Ones now, getting nearer each time.
"It wasn't the ground he would ideally have liked, that was the reason he ran so poorly at Ascot. For him to run like that it gives everyone in the yard a big lift.
"He's come out of it tired but very well in himself.
"The Stewards' Cup is only a slim possibility now, I'll probably avoid that altogether now and sit a little bit longer than normal.
"I did win the Listed Hopeful Stakes at Newmarket last August. I've won it two years on the trot and I'm probably likely to go there and get him a little more confidence.
"The horse likes the July track so we're keen to go back.
"We're in the Haydock Sprint Cup on September 5, the Champions Sprint at Ascot and we've been invited to Kentucky for the Breeders' Cup and I might do that.
"If we go to America he probably wouldn't go to Ascot."
