Ken Condon is praying for rain to aid Success Days in his bid to overturn Australian wonder mare Winx in the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

The County Kildare handler was delighted with Success Days' condition when he saw him for the first time in more than a month on his arrival in Sydney.

"I hadn't seen him in five weeks, but he looks great," Condon told At The Races' World Of Racing programme.

"Obviously it's a long travel, 33 hours. He put all the weight he lost back on. At this stage he's in good shape.

"His form is there for all to see and he is much better with a bit of cut in the ground. I know the track management will have the course safe, but any rain will be very welcome and would increase his chances.

"He's demonstrated over the last three seasons how consistent he is. If he can run to his level, we'd be very hopeful he'd get placed at least."

Success Days, who will race from stall eight, will be ridden by Joao Moreira.

Condon explained how the booking came about, saying: "Success Days is owned by Robert Ng, who is Hong Kong-based. Joao Moreira is very successful there, so it all made sense.

"He's a world-class rider and Success Days is a very straightforward ride."

Winx, trained by Chris Waller, has drawn the outside berth of stall 10 as she attempts to equal Black Caviar's record of 25 straight wins.
