The Jamie Snowden-trained Datsalrightgino will return to Graded targets ahead of a possible run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup at the Festival in March.
Winner of the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury in early December, the eight-year-old has been given a revised mark of 159 for his impressive performance, which would put him firmly in the mix at Graded level. Whilst Snowden has kept Datsalrightgino to handicaps in two runs this season, the gelding boats some useful Graded novice form from last season, including a second behind Solo in the Grade 2 Pendil Novices' Chase and a victory in the Grade 2 Future Champions Novices' Chase at Ayr in April.
Connections are looking to test his Gold Cup credentials in the next month, with both the Cotswold Chase on Cheltenham Trials Day and the Denman Chase at Newbury as possible options.
"It will be the Cotswold Chase or the Denman, they would be the two races for him depending on how he is and the ground at the time," said Snowden.
"Obviously he's got an entry in the Gold Cup and we'll put an entry in the Grand National as well.
"He still thinks he's the king!"
