The John Joseph Murphy-trained White Birch will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a minor hock injury. The grey has improved as a four-year-old, landing the ten-furlong Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup in late May, in addition to the Group 3 Alleged Stakes and the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes. He missed an intended return in the Group 1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot and has not been seen on the track since the Tattersalls Gold Cup success.

Amateur jockey Lauren Keen-Hawkins suffered a serious head injury in a fall at Worcester on Sunday. The Injured Jockeys Fund released a statement on Monday, saying: "Amateur jockey Lauren Keen-Hawkins had a fall in the last race at Worcester Racecourse yesterday and was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Lauren has suffered a serious head injury and is now in Critical Care. Her parents and partner are with her and they kindly ask for privacy at this difficult time."

Irish Derby hero Los Angeles is expected to form part of a three-strong team for the Aidan O'Brien yard in the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes, alongside Auguste Rodin and Luxembourg. The colt has gone from strength to strength since placing third behind City Of Troy in the Derby at Epsom, taking the Irish Classic and the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York's Ebor Festival. A satisfactory effort could see Los Angeles head to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October.

Inisherin could face a field of twenty-one rivals in Saturday's Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock. Winner of the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, the Kevin Ryan-trained colt failed to justify favouritism when down the field in the Group 1 July Cup. Trainer Karl Burke has three possible entrants for the race: Swingalong, second in the July Cup, French victor Spycatcher and the improving Elite Status.
