Upset in Galway Hurdle

3 minute read

This went to Moon Dice at 20/1, with Fosters Cross, who won on Tuesday, back again and running second at 12/1.

There's a lot to be said for backing up winners when they have a run within a week and so it proved

yesterday. Dirar came third and The Real Article fourth. Captain Cee Bee and Hidden Universe failed to

impress.

Friday's highlight is the Guiness Handicap for 3y+ over 2400 and has a field of 18 at this stage. Leceile is

up in weight following a recent win - trained by Noel Meade he will be ridden by young Joseph O'Brien,

who rode the winner of this race last year. Cnocandam is 7/2, John Oxx has two runners Celendine which

Johnny Murtagh will ride who is 8/1 and the promising but inexperienced Dawariya at 12/1. Interesting

runner and not to be ignored is Honey of a Kitten at 14/1, trained by Dermot Weld for the Ramsays, the

famous American breeders Ken and Sarah.
