Steve Burridge's Dark Matter won the 2000 Guineas Trial at Meydan last night and looks like the extra distance of the Guineas won't be a problem.
Dark Matter looked impressive and Ted Durcan was able to make the most of Frankie Dettori's decision to keep away from the rails on Rassam and Dark Matter went straight forward and scored well with Kinglet running on well for second.
The Al Maktoum Challenge Round 1 was no problem for Musir whose stablemate Master of Hounds was impressive in second. Musir will probably aim for the Duty Free has turf seems to be the preferred surface. Secrecy ran third, Mendip fourth and Derbaas fifth.
