Cheltenham trials at home and maybe Doncaster

3 minute read

The "maybe" for Doncaster is that it is subject to an inspection Saturday morning UK with a risk of frost hovering.

As a result several of the dual acceptors have opted for the Ascot meet to be sure of getting a run.

At Cheltenham things get underway with the Gr2 Triumph Hurdle Trial. It's down to 6 runners with Grumeti on 6/4, Baby Mix 7/4 and Hollow Tree - our preference - on 6/1.

The Gr 3 Murphy Group Chase is now with 10 runners. Aerial is 11/4 but we like stablemate Poquelin with the weight advantage of an apprentice, and Tamarin Bleu at 15/2.

The Cotswold Chase G2 has 9 runners with Captain Chris on 5/2, Time For Rupert on 3/1 and Tidal Bay 6/1.

The Classic Novice Hurdle Gr. 2 has 11 runners with Broadbackbob on 9/4, Knight Pass 9/2 and Batonnier 6/1.

The Gr 2 Cleeve Hurdle has 6 runners and Big Bucks is ginormous odds-on since he hasn't lost a race for three years (and then that was a second). Black Caviar is ahead as he's going for win #14. Mourad seems happy to collect second money and is 6/1 and Dynaste 10/1.

At Doncaster should they run the Mares Hurdle has Lifestyle 7/4, Alasi 15/8 and we rather like Dorabelle at 10/1.

The Lightning Novice Chase Gr 2 sees Menorah 8/13, Kumbeshwar 9/2 and Kid Cassady 11/4.

The Albert Bartlet is down to 6 with Gullinbursti 5/2, Lovcen 10/3 and Rocky Creek 7/2,.
