Don't know what it is about grey horses and jumps races but they just look so great, which was the case with Nacarat at Kemtpon Saturday.
He just looked so elegant as he put in a almost flawless display to win the Racing Plus Chase, defeatig Hectors Choice and the favourite Planet of Sound. Nacarat had won this race in 2009 and placed in the two intervening years and clearly enjoys Kempton.
That was part of a double for trainer Tom George and jockey Paddy Brennan as they had won the Adonis with Baby Mix who took charge of the race entering the straight and finished 2l ahead of Sadlers Rush with Dark and Dangerous 13l further back in third. Une Artists was disappointing and Dildar disposed of jockey Ruby Walsh at the last.
Brennan was not so lucky in the Dovecote as he got dumped there and the race went to the impressive Grumeti, with Dodging Bullets not doing a bad job to make it to third on debut.
The Pendil went to Cristal Bonus ahead of Duke of Lucca. The fancied Zaynar dumped his jockey at the first but kept on running all the way round and while he caused a couple of instances of inconvenience to the other runners he wasn't a major problem and proves again that horses won't do things they don't want to.
