Having won the Heart of the Community Small Club of the Year Award in 2023, the Club was nominated for a number of categories in 2024.

In the Arts & Culture Category, the Canberra Racing Club walked away with the top prize with the Canberra Festival of Speed recognised as a wonderful new addition to the Canberra events landscape.

The Arts & Culture Award recognises Clubs that empower and develop arts, language and culture in the community, including celebrating culture, festivals and events.

Canberra Racing Club Chief Executive Darren Pearce said, "We are so proud to be recognised for the Canberra Festival of Speed which is was a brave new endeavour for our Club."

"We strive to be a source of pride for our community and to deliver world-class events like the Festival of Speed to Canberra."

"The inaugural event attracted over 13,500 patrons with over 30% from outside Canberra, making it Canberra's newest driver of tourism."

The Club was also awarded the Best Burger in Canberra (Small Club), coming at no shock to those who had sampled Head Chef Deepak Singh's creation, the 'Feed the Seoul Burger'.

The Korean Fried Chicken Burger was entered as part of the Compete for our Heart promotion which raised money for the Canberra Hospital Foundation.

"We were thrilled to be a part of this ClubsACT promotion which was for a wonderful cause and also gave us the opportunity to be creative and show the Canberra community what we can do." Singh said.

"From elaborate four-course dining experiences, to the humble chicken burger, Thoroughbred Park can do it all."

The Canberra Racing Club congratulates ClubsACT and all award 2024 award winners for the positive contributions all Clubs make to life in the ACT.
