Was backed into favouritism last start and was left flat-footed when the sprint went on turning for home. his last 150m was superb though and the rise in trip looks right up his alley. Can continue to improve and with a weight swing in his favour, he can turn the tables this time.
Moonee Valley Race 10 #6 Firestorm – Win $2.80*
Has returned in super order this campaign and looks perfectly placed here to close out a big day. Put together back-to-back barnstorming wins to launch the prep, most notably fending off subsequent G1 placegetter Unusual Legacy second-up. Never got much of a crack at them last start in the Epsom but weaved a nice passage in the lane and was strong through the line. Stepping back out in trip is a tick and gets the services of D Lane from a favourable draw. Will take some beating.
