ROSEHILL - tips by Chris Scholtz

SR 3: (5) DYNAMIC HONOUR - This is the first of a potential Chris Waller domination of the day at Rosehill. The colt by Dynaformer was a big run at Canterbury when working home to only go under by a nose. He looks to have heaps of potential and the step up to 1400m can only be of benefit. A soft draw allows him to settle midfield in a big line-up and we might get backable odds.

SR 4: (7) WAZN - The second of the Waller tips is this ex-European who has not run a bad race since kicking off here in May. He may really be wanting 2400m but he showed plenty of dash last time when held up. That turn of foot is something down under trainers don't train out of their horses and this one has learned very quickly. He seems too well weighted with the claim not to be the horse to beat again.

SR 7: (2) BRAYROAN - Final leg of the trifecta is a horse who may well develop into a group runner in time – perhaps an Epsom Hcp type. He was short of a run first up and not comfortable inside horses. That won't be the case here second up and drawn out. He has loads more upside than the lot he meets in this and just that little claim is an added bonus. You can sense a short let up then a trial and attacking the Randwick mile in September.

ONES TO AVOID

SR 7: (5) OTHELLO - Just keeps getting backed this horse without much of a return for punters apart from the layers who would be having a field day. Seemingly vulnerable in his usual role as a leader this time in, he has had his chances and not likely to get a favourable run from awkward draw and still with the hefty weight.

CAULFIELD - tips by Wayne Bristow

MR 3: (4) MINNIE MAH - Hasn't run a bad race to date. She went for a spell after a career best rating in the Typhoon Tracy Plate behind two top fillies who were near the top of their games. The daughter of Al Maher will get a camp in behind them and against a field of fillies who are very even, she might be great odds.

MR 8: (2) ROCKPECKER - While the first up effort was only fifth at the Valley, that run each preparation is never his best. In each of his last three campaigns he's run second up in black type company and this is not up to that standard. His wins have come on good tracks so the drier the better for him. We should get pretty good each way value here with several runners in decent form.

ONES TO AVOID

MR 5: (2) MYTHICAL SPIRIT - Had plenty of favours on the Moonee Valley track which was very leaderish a fortnight back. This race sets up differently to that effort with a few other fast mares engaged. She might be well liked but worth a gamble in another open race.

DOOMBEN - tips by Wayne Bristow

BR 3: (2) WIN A MILLION - Mare who is rarely out of form and showed she was back again with a dominant win at Caloundra. She loves this trip and last time over this course and distance won by over four lengths. Likely to pozzy up in the first four, she can do the business again.

BR 7: (7) FLYING MINSTREL - Looked commanding in taking a Class 2 at the Gold Coast last week and backs up quickly. Must have done well and the gelding operation has obviously focused his mind. 51kg is a luxury and racing on speed is a real benefit from this starting position.

ONES TO AVOID

BR 2: (8) ELUSIVE PORT - Has some claims given he is backing up and coming down 4kg on a victory at Eagle Farm. But he hasn't been at this trip for nine runs and it was a struggle to drive through the gap last week. While the opposition is not if red hot form, he has to step up to open company.

MORPHETTVILLE - tips by Jason Hickson

AR 4: (2) WEEKEND SPECIAL - Might be just that. Racing very well this campaign, bombing the start last time but still kicking on to finish runner-up. Worth another chance and with a lack of pace here will take catching.

AR 6: (3) BIG SLICK - Ran a solid race in tougher grade fresh and returns to SA where he has a good record. At the trip has started twice for a win and a placing and second-up has raced three times for two wins and a placing. Being trained a little differently getting to the trip quickly but looks well placed here and worth following from here and next couple.

ONES TO AVOID

AR 3: (1) PERIDUKI - Racing in career best form but now right up in the weights. Will find firmer footing here and having his fourth run in a month and will be shorter again. Fear the Periduki train might run out of legs.
