NEW SOUTH WALES

SR 1-9 ELUSION (Les Bridge): This improving runner won an unexpected trial over 1200m at Randwick on Tuesday as the stable took the opportunity to counter three weeks break since his last start over 1600m.

SR 6-1 DESCARADO (Gai Waterhouse): Caulfield Cup winner is playing catch up in his preparation after a setback that came after he won a Randwick 1250m trial on a heavy track on 19 August. He has put plenty into his work and class always counts.

SR 8: This is the key trial race with (1) HURTLE MYRTLE, (5) LITTLE SURFER GIRL and (7) DEER VALLEY performing with credit in heats at Rosehill on 13 September. Hurtle Myrtle won her 1020m heat but Deer Valley, now in a new stable, comes through a stronger trial after a very competitive second to Love Conquers All in a fast 900m heat. Little Surfer Girl loves her home track and was putting in at the right end for third in another 900m heat. It should be noted that the three Peter Snowden stablemates (Kanzan, Shannara, Screen) all resume without official trials but they may well have had the benefit of private trials at his Agnes Banks property. Added to them, (12) VINTEDGE was a dual acceptor who worked to the line strongly in that Love Conquers All trial. She can perform when fresh.

VICTORIA

MR 2-1 KNEELING (John Thompson): Following her excellent win the Crockett at Moonee Valley (over Hallowell Belle no less), she trialled at Cranbourne with a win a fortnight back. This is an easier race than that which she was scratched from last week.

MR 5-10 THAT'S THE ONE (Colin/Cindy Alderson): After two top wins, he was scratched at the gates before the 1400m at Flemington. Forced to trial, he scored at Cranbourne a few weeks ago leading into his next run.

QUEENSLAND

BR 6-3 KORANOVSKY (Tony Gollan): Horse with a good first up record given a short let up after a poor run at Eagle Farm. She trialled as she always does in behind them at Doomben.

BR 6-6 WIN A MILLION (Kelly Schweida): Good mare ran very well resuming last time in the Gai Waterhouse then scored easily second up. Given a quick five week break after not winning at her next three runs and was second in the Doomben trials.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

AR 6-6 VALOROSO (Simon Casey): Scored in a Morphettville earlier in the month. Comes off an extraordinary 20 run, 12 month campaign winning four times. Obviously still has the zest for racing.
