Staking Plans and Systems
We offer to you some punting strategies which you may wish to try out and apply to current betting practices.
The basis of this system stems from the theory a large percentage of races run under handicap conditions are taken out by one of the first four top weights.
Our aim is to select the best backed of these horses and the one possessing the most consistent form.
In order to arrive at one horse, follow these rules.
1) Delete all races from a program not conducted under handicap conditions such as weight-for-age contests like Saturday’s Warwick Stakes (1400m).
2) Consider only the four top-weights in eligible handicap races. This may bring in more than four horses if several have the same weight.
3) From those four top weights consider only those horses who have run either 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th at their last two starts.
4) Back the horse remaining but on the chance there are two or more, proceed to wager on the first two of those horses highest in the market.
5) If the system does not fit any of the first four top weights, the race being assessed becomes a non-betting event.
Below are horses who fit the criteria in selected races from Warwick Farm and Moonee Valley on Saturday.
Warwick Farm Race 1 - Back Travolta #1 @ $3.20 and Sacred Flyer #2 @ $3.80
Moonee Valley Race 5 - Back Elite Elle #1 @ $6.00 and Lucky Penny #2 @ $4.20
