Big Bonanza is a tough hardened sprinter Picture: Racing and Sports
Listed Chief De Beers Hcp - 1100m Doomben

Racing And Sports have identified the Chief De Beers as the race of the weekend where the settling positions hold a big sway in the way the race may end up.

Our maps are interactive and so use the technology available to create your own speed map if you have a differing view. Much like racing everywhere, it is all a matter of opinion and that is what makes the sport great.

Click the link back to the race in our Form Guides and you can create your own Speed Maps located on the left hand side of the page.

Explanation:

Now this is a race where we will see very good speed engaged. Over this short course, you would have to think it will be hard to get a long way back as you will be being asked to make up too much ground. Adebisi is a flying machine and has led better horses than this so will be carving over. Big Bonanza, Iona Fast One, She Can Skate and Excellantes are the others who will be around him.

Speed Map Special:- (3) Big Bonanza

So often in these fast races, the best place to be in right near the speed and then gaining a split. Horses use up so much energy tacking onto the leaders that they’ve spent most of it come the critical part of the race. Big Bonanza comes from a different form line than most of these Queenslanders. He has very decent Sydney BM85 or better runs and was then placed in a Ramornie before a spell. He’s had three spaced trials before this effort and hopefully will be driving along the fence to be behind the leader. If he happened to jump best, he could even lead. He’s a tough, honest sprinter who rarely runs you a poor one and will give you a great each way sight.
