Listed Caloundra Cup - 2400m Caloundra
Racing And Sports have identified the Caloundra Cup as the race of the weekend where the settling positions hold a big sway in the way the race may end up.
Our maps are interactive and so use the technology available to create your own speed map if you have a differing view. Much like racing everywhere, it is all a matter of opinion and that is what makes the sport great.

Explanation:
Should be a solid speed here with some noted on-pacers engaged. That said they all know that and may well simply find their positions in the long run to the first turn. Brave Ali is the obvious one having led all the way in all bar one of his last five starts with the inside draws all holding up early.
Speed Map Special:- (1) Mr O'Ceirin
As long as he hasn’t taken any harm from the Brisbane Cup run or the long prep, it looks a perfect race for the Melbourne horse to continue the good trot of southern horses in the Brisbane feature staying races. His effort in the Eagle Farm Cup wins this easily if repeated. Importantly he gets a lovely run in transit which is critical given the weight. He can just be smothered away on the rail for the majority of the event knowing the likely leader will take him into the straight then pick off a run when it presents.
