The Trial Files

Michael Rodd is down to ride Tudor who The Trial Files think looks good value in Caulfield R1 after its trials Picture: Racing and Sports
The Trial Files team find you a few for Saturday

Racing And Sports is pleased to introduce for punters the services from The Trial Files. Their team specialise in viewing Barrier Trials from Victoria, NSW and WA and analyse them for future race performances.

The Trial Files don’t just provide recommended selections but also provide a full trial review service which delivers information for all punters to use. They aim to educate people on trial information and stimulate wagering on those horses in the process.

Please find below some of their best for the weekend based on recent trials around the country.

1. Caulfield Race 1 (5) Zeletto & (11) Tudor

TRIAL COMMENTS

TUDOR showed nice speed on the inside and was held together throughout in the straight. Nice jump and run type who had plenty more to give. Time some concern, but can win a maiden first up. WHITE HUNTER has jumped out solidly twice at Flemington. He was given an easy time in his first hitout and then a more testing gallop last time out. He shows speed and can be in the race a long way. TAN TAT SUN showed a nice turn of foot in a recent Caulfield jump out.

SUMMARY

TUDOR comes through a very strong form race on debut behind ELOPING, with JARKLIN a mile behind in third. He has improved over the break and will be in this race a long way. Both ZELETTO and ROYAL SNITZEL smashed the clock on debut with the former being slightly more impressive. Suspect this Luke Oliver trained son of Snitzel could be one out of the box and although he faces a task from barrier 13 he looks smart enough to overcome that hurdle. Happy to side the way of ZELETTO and TUDOR. Both TAN TAT SUN and WHITE HUNTER will be thereabouts on debut off solid jump outs.

2. Seymour Race 5 – 3 Crooner

TRIAL COMMENTS

A $500 purchase but CROONER races like a $500,000 blueblood. The recent trial suggests this son of Encosta De Lago is clearly in very good order. He jumped nicely and was happy sitting just off the speed early. He came wide around the home turn but loomed up outside LAMINGTON’S under a tight hold. He couldn’t have trialled much more impressively.

SUMMARY

Tipping he will be extremely hard to beat in this BenchMark70 over 1000m. Expecting COSTA PLENTY to lead with CROONER to his outside. We felt almost certain it was time to take this 4YO to town so it is a bit of a surprise to see him kick off in a provincial race with 60.5kg. He will likely come up at a short quote but suspect he may be too good for these.
