Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts
R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.
SELECTIONS
Rosehill Race 1 - 6 Extensible
Ready to peak at her third run back after placing in each of her two starts on slow tracks at this course.
Faced a task second-up when she rose quickly in distance from her first-up second over 1350m to finish third over 1500m against fitter horses in higher class.
Should get all the favours this time dropping back to 1400m from an inside raw in this lesser grade.
Rosehill Race 7 - 9 Testashadow
A lot to like about the chances of this smart performer first-up from a spell as he will be carrying only 51kg after the claim for in-form apprentice Deanne Panya.
This will see him receiving between 3kg and 9kg off his rivals which could make him hard to run down if the track plays towards the on pace runners.
Went out for a spell in peak winning form and his super efforts in two recent trials are a strong indication that he is set come back in similar vein.
Rosehill Race 8 - 10 Kangarilla Joy
Unbeaten in two first-up assignments and will be strongly fancied to add to that record after her recent trial that she could have won after controlling the speed.
Showed her class when second in the G2 Light Fingers Stakes last season and her record of three wins from four starts at 1100m including her only start at this course ticks all the right boxes.
BLACKBOOK UPDATE from 6 August (Randwick, Flemington & Eagle Farm)

Mediterranean - Tried hard under difficult conditions. Better than this.Revitalise - Made his move too early. Run short of his top.
