Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts

R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.

SELECTIONS

Rosehill Race 3 - 8 Mornington

This import appeals as the value play in a field where his trainer Chris Waller has multiple chances.

Hard to miss his promising Australian debut under 57kg when third over this course and distance three weeks ago and the form out of that race has been confirmed by the subsequent Rosehill win of the runner-up Lord Kingsley.

Can only improve on that effort as he was effective up to 2400m with two wins and three placings from just six starts in the UK. Well graded here on that form with just half a kilo over the limit.

Just Dreaming is talented Picture: Racing and Sports
Rosehill Race 4 - 9 Blowing Kisses

Gets out to 1200m for the first time in three starts since resuming and is ready to win after two excellent placings over the shorter trips of 1000m at Warwick Farm and 1100m at Rosehill.

Produced big closing sectionals behind the unbeaten Bon Amis at this course two weeks ago when she reeled off the fastest last 600m of the day in 32.68 on a day when the rail as out 6m and the pattern was against her.

Sure to settle back again but should get her chance coming off a genuine pace with the rail back in the true.

Rosehill Race 6 - 6 Just Dreaming

Talented mare recorded her third win from four starts at this course when she overcame trouble in the straight to surge to a decisive win over 1500m on November 11.

Comes back 100m in trip against a stronger field but drawn to enjoy a favourable run under the same weight. She is progressing strongly with every run this prep and doubt that she has reached her peak.
